16th Reinforcements march in Dunedin

Trained members of the 16th Reinforcements march in Dunedin on 19 August 1916. Most groups of fully trained men were farewelled in Wellington, the city closest to the country's main training camps at Trentham and Featherston. The government arranged for a few reinforcement drafts, including the 16th, to visit other main centres.
