Paddy Keating's beer boycott letter

Although most publicans supported raising the price of a beer to 7d, Paddy Keating held out against the increase and continued to charge only 6d. As a result his business boomed – the Star reported that crowds spilled out onto the pavement, and extra barmen had to be called in.
