Poster for the first women's test match between New Zealand and England, in 1935 

The first-ever women's test match took place between Australia and England in Brisbane on 28, 29 and 31 December 1934. At the end of the Australian leg of the tour, the England team, captained by Betty Archdale, was unbeaten in 21 matches, having won 15 and drawn 6.
