Te Tītaha signed the Treaty of Waitangi on 4 March 1840 at Karaka Bay, Tāmaki.
Te Tītaha was killed by Hōne Heke Pōkai's forces at the battle of Ōhaeawai on 1 July 1845, during the Northern War.
