Welcome back

I hope everyone is refreshed after a well deserved break. I know from having attended some of the History teacher's conference here in Wellington that many teachers spent some of the beautiful spring weather working on their professional development in what appeared to be a very successful conference. No doubt many students also spent some of their time preparing for their upcoming exams, so best wishes to everyone for a successful final term for 2010.

The Wellington History Teachers Association in conjunction with the Ministry for Culture and Heritage has organised a spring seminar series for those studying New Zealand in the nineteenth century at Level 3. So as to ensure those of you in other parts of the country don't miss out we have posted these seminars in the NCEA Level 3 section of the Classroom. You can find them here.

Feedback I received from a session I ran at the conference was that topic overviews were a useful resource for both teachers and students so I will keep working on these. I am presently trying to finish one on New Zealand Race Relations for Level 1 and the Growth of National Identity for Level 2 so watch this space.
