The aerial ropeway carrying quartz from the new Prohibition mine to be crushed at the old Snowy battery was a brief feature of the Waiuta landscape, but Divis documented it thoroughly. Operated by gravity, with descending loaded buckets pulling up empties on an ‘endless’ rope, it was used for two years before being dismantled in 1938, when the new ball mill beside the mine was commissioned.
