The Fairburn-Kaiaka hall, near Kaitaia, was built in 1910. There are three rolls of honour in the hall. One is a framed, hand-lettered display board headed ROLL OF HONOUR / THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1919. / LIST OF OLD BOYS OF THE FAIRBURN’S SCHOOL / WHO TOOK PART IN THE GREAT STRUGGLE. This includes the names of 16 ex-pupils.

The others are the Fairburn-Kaiaka First World War and Second World War rolls of honour. The former lists the names of 33 men who served during the First World War War, eight of whom were killed. It is decorated with the Union Jack and the flags of some of the Allied nations (Serbia, Belgium, France, Russia, Italy and Japan). The latter has 30 names (six killed). It is almost identical to the First World War tablet in format, although it displays only the New Zealand flag.
