German anti-aircraft gun at Maleme

German soldiers man an anti-aircraft gun position at Maleme airfield while a Junkers Ju 52 transport aircraft prepares to land in the background. The capture of this vital airfield allowed the Germans to land reinforcements and precious supplies for their beleaguered invasion force.
