Glen Innes state flats

Glen Innes state flats

During the 1950s and 60s governments tried to reduce the cost of state housing by building more multi-unit dwellings and using cheaper materials, such as fibrolite. Lacking privacy and landscaping, many of these communities soon assumed a monotonous, desolate appearance. These multi-units in Talbot Park, Glen Innes, Auckland, have since be demolished as part of the area's Community Renewal initiative.
