The memorial at Hakataramea reads on the East side: Erected by the Hakataramea residents In proud and loving memory of Sergeant W. Kelk Private D.Campbell Private T.W.Haynes Private D.R.McKenzie Private R. Hannah Private C. Ross Private A.H. Walker Trooper W.J.Clear Great War 1914-1918 Greater love hath no man Underneath this is a brass plaque that reads: Korea 1950-53 Malaya 1948-60 Borneo 1964-66 Vietnam 1964-72 A tribute to those who served and paid the supreme sacrifice Lest we forget On the north side it reads In Everlasting Memory of Privat A. Burnett Private J. Dungey Killed in Action 2nd World War 1939-1945 For King and Country
