In the mid-1930s the AB-class Pacifics were superseded on the main trunk by the giant 4-8-4 K-class locomotives – the pinnacle of steam power on New Zealand's railways.

Hi, I have a bound book "Diagrams and photos of the Principal Power and Rolling Stock Units of the New Zealand Government Railways". It contains pictures of the following Classes; K, J; G; AB; TR; ED; also a brief resumee of the specifications. Signed and dated 1939. Would this be of interest? David Charles
