Maori Language Week protest march

During the 1980 Maori Language Week a march was held to demand that the Maori language have equal status with English. Another seven years passed before it became an official language of New Zealand.

THis march is led by Amster Reedy and Keri Kaa Ngati Porou supporters of Te Reo Maori Society at VUW, The Maori Graduates Association (Koro Dewes and family, Api Mahuika and family, Tipene O'Regan, John Dayal,including students from the Wellinton Teachers College. This is in Wellington turning up into Cuba Street I think. Amster and Keri can provide much fuller details.
