Hi I've no idea if I'm in the right place, lol but my 10 yr old daughter has a homework question I can't seem to find the answer to. I wonder if you might be able to help? She needs to know the name of the person who brought thousands of sheep to Martinborough? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated please and thankyou. My email addy is lesax@slingshot.co.nz Cheers Leisa.

Thanks, Stuart. I've asked Jock Phillips and he had a couple of pics of the Sth African memorial from the 1980s so I've now added a page for that here Regards Jamie Mackay NZHistory.net.nz

Martinborough also has a memorial for the South African war in the centre of the square.
