Niue Islanders with nurses in Auckland

Niue Islanders entertained by nurses in Auckland, 1916. Pacific Islanders were held in groups, often in convalescent homes, while awaiting shipping to return them home. Their final leave was not taken in New Zealand but on return to their home island.
