First World War names Second World War names

Patearoa war memorial near Ranfurly. The lower section of the 1914 plate reads:

1939 - 1945
Pte R B McLaren
Lt F F Greer

Which is a duplicate of the inscription on the left side of the memorial.

Interesting that the First World War is noted as 1914-1919.
