When Charles Blomfield painted the Pink Terraces they were already long gone. His highly romantic paintings strove for an aesthetic ideal.

I believe this is the oil, the original of which spent many years on the end wall of the stairs of the Cosmopolitan Club, Wanganui. Blomfield's white terraces was there also.
