Riversdale St Marks Sth African War memorial

Memorial plaque to Trooper William George Earle at St Marks Anglican church, Riversdale, 2008. Trooper Earle served with the New Zealand Second Contingent during the South African (Boer) War and was killed in action 21 January 1901. The tablet was apparently carved by the Italian-born carver Carlo Bergamini in his studio in Southland.
