On 27 November 1940 HMS (later HMNZS) Leander stopped the disguised Italian armed merchant vessel Ramb I in the Indian Ocean. At first the Italians tried to bluff it out, but when faced with being boarded, they dropped their disguise and started a one-sided battle.
