Tahuna war memorial Tahuna war memorial

Tahuna war memorial hall which was opened in October 1954. In front of the hall is a small obelisk with plaques listing the names of those from the district killed in the First and Second World Wars. This appears to have been moved here at a later date.

Bill McCabe is a Second World War veteran and he has raised and lowered the flag at Anzac Day ceremonies in Tahuna for as long as anyone can remember. He appears in the last photo. Read more about him here.
