‘The Summit at Last’
In this engraving from the New Zealand Graphic, 21 July 1894, a woman holding a flag that reads ‘Perfect Political Equality’ is helped up to the ’Parliamentary Heights’ by a man. In the background a flag that reads ‘Women’s Franchise’ flies atop a mountain labelled ‘1893’ (the year New Zealand women gained the vote).
