Thomas Taylor

Thomas Taylor

Formal portrait of Thomas Edward Taylor, 1910. Taylor (1862-1911) was a prohibitionist and radical independent politician who opposed the South African War as a capitalist venture. The loss of his parliamentary seat in the 1899 election can be partly attributed to his outspoken views on the war effort.
