Thompson sub-machine gun

Thompson Model 1928A1 sub-machine gun. The Thompson or ‘Tommy Gun’ was originally a police weapon but soon became a favourite with Chicago gangsters. The design was simplified for military use in 1942 and the Thompson became a standard weapon for United States, British and Commonwealth infantry units during the Second World War.
