Upper Riccarton memorial library. The official Memorial is the glass one that is in the front foyer. This used to be marble but in 1958 a car failed to stop at the intersection with Hansons Lane and crashed through the window and destroyed the tablets, hence the glass ones now. The book (see image) is a bible and was the first book donated to the library in 1920.
