Water reservoirs at Magdhaba

Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Guy Powles of the Canterbury Mounted Rifles Regiment (left) and Brigadier-General Charles Cox, commanding officer of the Australian 1st Light Horse Brigade survey a series of incomplete rock-cut water reservoirs at Magdhaba, December 1916. The reservoirs had been excavated by Ottoman troops under the direction of German engineers.
