Video footage compiled at the time of the Erebus disaster, largely relating to Operation Overdue. This segment relates to the recovery of the voice recorder and flight recorder from the crash site.

It includes an interview with Bob Thomson, the superintendent of the Antarctic Division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Captain Ian Gemmell, Chief Pilot from Air New Zealand, Ron Chippindale, Chief Inspector of Air Accidents, Office of Air Accidents Investigation, and First Officer Peter Rhodes, an air accident investigator representing the New Zealand Airline Pilots Association.
