This segment relates to body recovery; includes discussion of the difficult weather conditions and long hours. It includes interviews with some of the mountaineers involved in the Operation, including possibly two of the mountaineers first at the site, Hugh Logan and Daryl Thompson.

This segment also includes material filmed at Christchurch Airport on the evening of the crash, including film of journalists at work, people awaiting passengers from the flight and police operations. It includes an interview with Colin McLachlan, Minister of Civil Aviation.

The segment later returns to the recovery of the voice recorder and flight recorder from the crash site. It includes interviews with Ron Chippindale, Chief Inspector of Air Accidents, Office of Air Accidents Investigation, Captain Ian Gemmell, Chief Pilot from Air New Zealand, and Alan Crawford of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
