Tupua Tamasese lying in state

The lying in state of Tupua Tamasese Lealofi III, Samoa, 1929.

Amongst those around the coffin are, from left to right: Faumuina Fiame Mulinu'u I (seated in foreground), Tamasese's son (above Faumuina, with folded arms), Tuimaleai'ifano (with arm in a sling), Mrs Ala Tamasese (seated, in profile), and two European Mau supporters, Alfred Hall Skelton and Alfred G. Smyth.

I love how my fellow Samoan brothers and sisters stood up for wat they believe in! Every year on Samoan language week I remember them who sacrificed their life so that I could live! Thank You for being here for my country! Samoa till I die!
