Kīngi Te Ahoaho signed Te Tiriti at Ōtaki on 19 May 1840. He was married to Rangiwhaea.
In an 1881 Native Land Court hearing she was described as having ‘the mana on the south side of the creek from Pakakutu to the Tararua Mountains’. Kīngi Te Ahoaho was among the rangatira who signed a letter to farewell Governor Grey in 1853 and another welcoming Grey’s return in 1861.
