Catherine/Kate McDonald was born in Victoria, Australia in 1858 – the daughter of Angus McDonald and Sarah McKinnon. (See 299 Sarah McDonald)
She came to New Zealand with her family about 1862 where they farmed at Georgetown in North Otago.
Catherine did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family at Georgetown.
She died at her parent’s home on 19 October 1898 and she is buried in the family grave in the Georgetown Cemetery.
