Christina McInnes was born on 1 June 1869 in Rothesay, Bute, Scotland – the daughter of John McInnes, a carter, and Mary McCallum. (See 80 Mary McInnes

She emigrated to Otago with her family in 1883 on the Caroline and they settled in Milton.

When Christina signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family working as a dressmaker.

Christina married James Meek, a woollen mill worker, in 1907 – they had no children.

She died at her home in Milton on 8 February 1930 and James died in 1940, they are buried together in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
