Jane/Jeannie McDonald was born in 1871 in South Otago – the daughter of Donald McDonald, a farmer, and Margaret. (See 139 Mrs D McDonald)

Jeannie grew up on the family farm in Milburn where she signed the suffrage petition.

After her father’s death she went, with her mother and sisters, to live in Dunedin.

She died there on 3 November 1937 and is buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
