NZ’s heaviest ever gold nugget discovered
New Zealand’s heaviest recorded nugget was found at Ross on the West Coast. Weighing 2.81 kg, the nugget was named the 'Honourable Roddy' after the Minister of Mines, Roderick McKenzie.
