Map of Pacific Theatre

Soldiers of the 3rd Division of 2 NZEF were based in several countries in the Pacific during the Second World War, including Fiji and New Caledonia. From September 1943 to February 1944 they saw action in the Solomon Islands (circled in red on map). Air force and naval servicemen from New Zealand also served in the Pacific region.
