After the First World War, the Greenpark community built both a memorial hall and a memorial obelisk (see Greenpark war memorial). After the Second World War, it also opened a memorial park across the road from the hall, accessed by a set of memorial gates. The names of the four local men who died in the latter war were inscribed on a tablet set into one of the gateposts.

In 2012 the memorial hall was demolished, but on Sunday 22 May 2016 a replacement building, the Greenpark Community Centre (sometimes referred to as the Greenpark Memorial Community Centre), was opened in the memorial park. The foundation stone and the rolls of honour from the old hall were placed in the new centre. The First World War obelisk has also been relocated to the memorial park.
