There is an impressive set of brick war memorial steps at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Hokianga Road, Dargaville. These were dedicated in December 1953. They lead steeply from the street to a semi-circular landing just below the church, where the following memorial plaque is set into the wall:-

TO THE GLORY OF GOD / THESE STEPS ARE DEDICATED / TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES / IN THE WAR OF / 1939-45.

This space also serves as a garden of memories, with another plaque dedicating it to the memory of former parishioners whose cremated remains rest there, and a number of individual plaques which record their names.
