The Tāhuna war memorial hall was opened in October 1954. In front of the hall is a small obelisk with plaques listing the names of those from the district killed in the First and Second World Wars. This appears to have been moved here at a later date.
Bill McCabe (pictured) is a Second World War veteran who has raised and lowered the flag at Anzac Day ceremonies in Tāhuna for as long as anyone can remember.
