This memorial is adjacent to Tawakeheimoa Meeting House on Tarimano Marae, Te Awahou.  It lists the names of Ngāti Rangiwewehi men who were killed during the Second World War. The memorial was unveiled on 6 April 1947. The meeting house (opened in 1943) was built as a centennial memorial and includes photos of deceased soldiers on the walls.

You can find out more about many of these men from the 28th Māori Battalion website roll.
