Lieutenant William Burn

Portrait of Lieutenant William Burn, taken from his Royal Aero Club aviator's certificate, February 1914. The first New Zealand Army man to qualify as a military aviator, Burn served in Mesopotamia (Iraq) during the First World War, becoming the first New Zealand airman to be killed in action.
