The Tākaka Memorial Library at 3 Junction St, Tākaka was opened on 12 May 2008, having replaced the much smaller former Memorial Library at 63 Commercial St.

At the library’s 10th anniversary on 11 May 2018, plaques depicting the history of Golden Bay libraries were dedicated. The library retains its status as a ‘memorial’ building, complimented by a new Tākaka War Memorial Park at 63 Commercial St which was dedicated and opened on 31 October 2015.
