Howick Historical Village
Howick Historical Village is a living museum which recreates the early settlement of Auckland, especially the Fencible settlement of Howick in the 1850s. Information includes for intending visitors and teachers.
A history of Onehunga - This site contains information regarding the early settlement of Onehunga, and historical information, including passenger lists. Provided by Russell Carter. Bibliography of the Waikato Region
A bibliography of all publications - books, theses, periodical articles, AJHR reports, special issues of newspapers -- which relate to the Waikato Region, defined as the area bounded by Matamata, Piako, Raglan, Waikato and Waipa Counties. The Petone Settlers Museum provides a window into the history of the people of Hutt City and nearby. Activities focus on the lower Hutt Valley. Descriptions of life history interviews with 7 long-term residents of Kilbirnie and Lyall Bay, Wellington. Audio and video excerpts from each interview available. The residents talk about the dramatic physical and social changes they've witnessed in this area of Wellington since the 1920s.

Hocken Library
The Hocken Library is one of the foremost historical research libraries in New Zealand. It was established in 1910 when Dr Thomas Morland Hocken gave his private collection to the University of Otago, in trust for the people of New Zealand. The Library collects widely in relation to the history and culture of New Zealand, the Pacific and Antarctica, and has a special emphasis on the regions of Otago and Southland.
