Fort Richmond near Hutt River

This 1845 painting shows Fort Richmond, beside the Hutt River.

The 58th Regiment occupied the fort not long after it was completed in April 1845. The soldiers shown are militia, civilians identifiable by their mixture of red and blue uniforms.
