Gold battery near Waiuta

In the Snowy River valley south of Waiuta, quartz was pounded to powder by heavy stamps and the gold was saved through various processes. With gravity essential for carrying the stone from one phase to another, the site was perfect, while the stream at the bottom took away the tailings or waste sands – but only after they had been treated with cyanide in the lowest building in the background.
