The First World War memorial cairn in the grounds of St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Hastings, was unveiled on Armistice Day, 11 November 1922. It incorporated a granite tablet inscribed with the names of 44 former parishioners who had given their lives during the war. After the Second World War, a second tablet was added with a further 55 names.
