Incline to Seddonville mine

Incline to Seddonville mine

A new section of railway had to be built to carry coal out of the Cave Section that was developed by the Seddonville State Mine in 1903. The rail ropeway crosses a terrace that was then largely covered by timber. Although it was later cleared for agriculture, by the late 20th century this area had reverted to manuka and scrub.
