Kitty Kain, Vida Jowett and Ruth Herrick

The three most senior New Zealand servicewomen during the Second World War were, from left to right, Kitty Kain, superintendent of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF); Vida Jowett, chief commander of the New Zealand Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC); and Ruth Herrick, director of the Women's Royal New Zealand Naval Service (WRNZNS).
