Leigh war memorial

Leigh war memorial

War memorial at Leigh, a small settlement near Warkworth and Matakana, north of Auckland. The  memorial is apparently for the Omaha district: Omaha Bay is nearby.

The memorial is actually on the inside wall of the Leigh cemetery with a flagpole beside it.  There was an Anzac wreath there, so it is obviously in use on Anzac Day.  From the modernity of the tiling on the wall, it appears the plaques may have been moved from elsewhere, or else the wall was retiled and the plaques placed back in the original positions.
