Norman Kirk Springbok tour cartoon

In this Nevile Lodge cartoon, which appeared in the Evening Post in 1973, the prime minister, Norman Kirk, and his deputy, Hugh Watt, are discussing the problems the new Labour government faces. The proposed Springbok tour looms large as one of these problems. Through the window the leader of the opposition, Jack Marshall, and his deputy, Robert Muldoon, are looking on smugly.
