Te Kao war memorial

The Te Kao memorial is a white plinth with the Second World War plaque set into the north facing side, and a separate marble First World War memorial standing alone on one of the steps of the plinth (also facing north).

The First World War memorial records the names of eight soldiers who fell in that conflict, while another six are commemorated on the Second World War plaque, together with another notable Te Aupouri returned soldier, Takimoana Harawira.
