
Wood engraving of prophet Tohu Kakahi of Te Ati Awa. The engraving was made by John P. Ward in Nelson, 1883.
Tohu and Te Whiti o Rongomai led the passive resistance movement at Pariahaka. Both men were arrested following the infamous raid on Parihaka by Armed Constabulary in 1881.
