Transporting camels on a train

Transporting camels on a train

Camels loaded on a train for transport across the Sinai railway to the Imperial Camel Corps Brigade in Palestine, 1917. The letters 'HK' can be clearly seen on one of the camels nearest the camera. This may be an indication that the camels in this wagon are destined for the Hong Kong and Singapore Mountain Battery - the camel-mounted artillery unit attached to the Imperial Camel Corps Brigade.
